Itinerary
First Day
We will leave in the morning from Bucharest and head to Unirea Salt Mine. Known as the biggest salt mine in Europe, it stands today as one of the most important watering and climatic resorts in Romania. Unique not only in the country but also in Europe. We will continue our trip, and in about 1 hour you will be in Sinaia City, where you will visit Peles Castle, the summer residence of the first king of Romania, Carol I of Hohenzollern, of German origins. Being surrounded by mountains, Brasov is home to one of the narrowest streets in Europe. Then take a peek inside the Black Church, the largest Gothic church in Romania. You will stay overnight in Brasov City.
Second Day
After breakfast, we will go to Libearty Bear Sanctuary, home to almost 90 rescued brown bears. More than 69 hectares of forest with rivers and ponds are now the home of almost 90 brown bears. Most of the bears in the Sanctuary were rescued from the most miserable and small cages, where they were used as a form of entertainment for tourist attractions. Since 2008, this wild place has been visited, and you will see bears climbing trees, playing in the water pools, or just lazing in the meadows.
You will continue the day, and in about one hour of driving through the Carpathian Mountains, you will arrive at Bran Castle. Also called Dracula's Castle, it was originally built as a fortress and is surrounded by an aura of mystery and legend. It owes its fame to its imposing towers and turrets as well as to the myth created around Bram Stocker's Dracula. Along the way, the Castle had a strategic mission as the border between Transylvania and Wallachia. Narrow, winding stairways lead through some 60 timber rooms, many connected by underground passages, which house collections of furniture, weapons, and armor dating from the 14th to the 19th centuries.
